Supporting YOUR Birth
The Doula
My Philosophy

Supporting YOUR Birth

Have you got the best possible support for YOUR Birth?

Many women are now realising that birth is far more than just delivering a baby. It is a pivotal and empowering moment in a woman’s life.

Birth can and should be a beautiful and satisfying journey. Whilst medical technology is important in ensuring the safety of both Mother and babe in an emergency, research is now showing that having a nuturing and caring support team around you is just as important.

A Doula can be a vital part of this support team as her entire focus is to ensure the mother, her partner and the new baby has the best possible birth experience.

The benefits in having a Doula

• 50% reduction on Cesarean rates
• 25% Shorter labour
• 60% reduction in epidural requests

The Doula

The professional Doula is a birth Companion for birthing women and their Partners. The Doula is extremely successful in providing the best birth outcomes possible.

Part of that success story lies not only in women’s increased feelings of satisfaction during the birth of their babies, but also in the reduction in the need for pain relief and interventions.

The Doula also has met the couple during the pregnancy and knows exactly what they want for THEIR birth.

What about the Dad?

Babies’ fathers love having a Doula to work with throughout the labour because they remove the stress factor and enhance their support techniques.

A Doula is not there to replace the dad, but to support him also and ensuring that he is comfortable in actively participating in the birthing process.

My Philosophy

As a modern society, I think a lot of us have lost track of how empowering and life changing giving birth can be. A huge part of our journey in this life is shaped by the experiences we have as we become parents.

Personal Choice is of the utmost importance, and having a support team that respects, and, helps you to achieve these choices is paramount. These choices begin the moment you fall pregnant, from chosing the most suitable caregivers, to where and in what setting you wish to give birth.

So many of us have lost faith in our bodies ability to naturally deliver our babies into this world, but with a little guidance, knowledge and a lot of love and support, it can be done!!!!

If you would like to discuss the possibility of having a Doula at your birth further, then please contact me.
